The wide open spaces and ruggedness of Bodmin Moor is a complete contrast to the softer pastoral surroundings of Tom’s Cottage, the north-western edge of The Moor lying just 8 miles away.
Being the largest part of Cornwall’s AONB, this upland expanse is home to Dozmary Pool (of Lady of the Lake and Excalibur fame), the stone circle of King Arthur’s Hall and Poldark’s home Nampara (a farmhouse not far from St Breward).
A walker’s paradise, the scenery is stunning with plenty of prehistoric hut circles, clapper bridges and Tors to discover. For horse lovers, we suggest a ride out over the moors with Hallagenna Riding.
