The sun continues to shine on Tom’s Cottage – with the second accolade in two months*.
Becoming a New Tourism Business finalist in the Cornwall Tourism Awards is super exciting for The Tom Team. It confirms dreams can come true - Tom’s Cottage style!
Co-owner Juliet says “the one certainty I had when starting my childhood home’s new chapter was that it had to be done right. With integrity: preserving the character of the place while replicating the homely happiness I remember, for each and every holiday we host.”
Juliet and her husband (she refers to him as ‘the backbone of the outfit’) are fresh faces themselves to the travel industry - with Tom’s Cottage being their sole concern. Juliet feels this brings a zesty outlook to their hospitality, a freshness. She explains “as an awards finalist, Tom’s Cottage has been judged by experts alongside other new tourism businesses across Cornwall; and we’ve made it to the top layer! Like the cream floating to the top of a milk jug. It’s thrilling confirmation that the Tom’s Cottage ambience is working its magic.”
The awards ceremony takes place on the 7th November 2024 at Truro Cathedral, when Tom’s Cottage Cornwall will discover whether they receive a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award in the New Tourism Business category.
Juliet adds “our fellow newbie finalists are Bar Silo, Fowey and Wavecrest Café, The Lizard - both have an online vibe that radiates contemporary - we’re absolutely delighted to be rubbing shoulders with them and wish them both the very best of luck. Congratulations to all the 60 finalists – we’re looking forward to a great evening with you!”
